2013 Southampton Cultural Center Juried Art Exhibition

Where:
Southampton Cultural Center, Levitas Center for the Arts, 25 Pond Lane.

When:
September 10 – October 6, 2013

Media:
Oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, prints, mixed-media, photography, and sculpture.

Size Restriction:
Pictures: 36” high x 26” wide; Sculpture: no larger than 30”x20”x20”
Art that exceeds these dimensions will be rejected.
Accepted works must be labeled or tagged with artist’s name, title, date, medium and size of work. No prices should be on the labels. All artwork must be original and available for purchase. Please note that the SCC receives a 50% commission on sales, which goes to support the Center’s programming.

Entry Fee:
$25.00 for each of up to three entries by an artist.

Submissions:
Applications should be submitted by mail together with CDs of the works to be considered. Be sure to identify CDs clearly with your name, title of work, medium and dimensions. Submit to Southampton Cultural Center, 25 Pond Lane, Southampton, NY 11969 (PO Box 5008, Southampton, NY 11969 if sending via USPS). Entry deadline:
June 3, 2013. All entries will be considered and forty will be selected for the exhibition at the Levitas Center for the Arts at Southampton Cultural Center. Artists will be notified of selection status by July 15th.

Juror: Helen Harrison, Director, Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center. Beginning as a Curator for the Parrish Museum, Southampton, NY, she is a former feature writer and art reviewer for the New York Times, Long Island Section, and visual arts commentator for the NPR affiliate WLIU. Publications include Hamptons Bohemia: Two Centuries of Artists and Writers on the Beach co-authored with Constance Ayers Denne, and a monograph Focus: Jackson Pollock to be published by Phaidon in 2014.

Award: Top Honors will be awarded to three artists for an exhibition in 2014 titled “Three Winners”. In addition 3 honorable mentions will be awarded.

Reception: Sunday, September 15 from 4 - 6 PM
Delivery of art work: September 9 from 10 – 12 PM
Pick Up of art work: October 7 from 10 – 12 PM
